Here is my shameless plug.
I wrote a book.
You see, Grandma Goose and Grandpa Goose came to be here in the country because of a beautiful monastery called the Life-Giving Spring Monastery. My father is the priest for the monastic community and its pilgrims.
Our little family began visiting the grandparents and likewise the monastery. I forget nowadays, but it is a rather unique experience for most people. How often does one go to see a monastery? Growing up as a PK (priest's kid), me, probably more frequently than others. It was a very moving experience to watch my girls come to know the monastery, the sisters, and the church. When we were away, the pages of this story filled themselves in my head.
We live here now, close to the sisters and their home, but I didn't want my daughters to forget about how they had first experienced the monastery and how special that was.
Eventually the thoughts that had been circling around in my head were put down onto paper, and printed in a little booklet for the girls to read on their own.
I wanted to share this book with others because I would encourage you to come visit. Come to know and love the monasteries in the same way we do. Learn why they are important to our faith, and how we are connected to them. (And also support our farm :D)
